Author Q&A + Giveaway: Jodi Meadows

Hi everyone!

Today, we have a very exciting interview with Jodi Meadows, the author of the 'Incarnate' trilogy! So when I heard that Jodi would be open to doing an author Q&A, my inner fangirl screamed. I could not believe what happened. So then I spent some time typing and coming up with a few questions to ask her, and here it is! Jodi is an amazing and hilarious woman.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

A: I like yarn, ferrets, books, cookies, and unicorns. I feel like that says quite a lot about me, but just in case, here's my official author bio:

Jodi Meadows lives and writes in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, with her husband, a Kippy*, and an alarming number of ferrets. She is a confessed book addict, and has wanted to be a writer ever since she decided against becoming an astronaut. She is the author of the INCARNATE Trilogy and the forthcoming ORPHAN QUEEN Duology (HarperCollins/Katherine Tegen). Visit her at www.jodimeadows.com

*A Kippy is a cat.

Q: How did you get inspired to write the Incarnate Trilogy?

A: It's a long story that involves time travel, ninjas, ancient daggers, and unicorns. Bad things happen to the unicorns. Sorry.

Q: When did you start writing? Why did you decided to become an author?

A: I knew I wanted to be an author when I was eleven years old. That was when I realized that books didn't just magically appear on bookshelves. Someone had to write them. A person. And it was a legitimate job.

I wanted it to be my job.

That was when I started writing, too, but only off and on. I didn't start writing full time until 20003.

Q: Tell us 5 completely off the charts random facts about you.

1. My ferrets' names are Todd, Hiro, and Katniss.
2. I like coffee.
3. I knit a stuffed hedgehog and it sits on my desk.
4. I keep a glittery butterfly mask on my desk, too. For "emergencies."
5. Once I went to the store and bought a bunch of pretty paper boxes because I was sad. There were all different sizes. My husband asked if I was going to put all the boxes inside one another (like nesting dolls), and put my feelings in the tiniest, innermost box. So I did. Now I'm always happy.

Q: Is there going to be a movie for Incarnate? If so, who's your dream Sam?

A: It's really unlikely that there will be a movie unless Incarnate suddenly becomes a mega bestseller. I'm not really good at faces, anyway, so I don't have a dream cast.

Q: If one of your pets were in danger, who would you save first? Your ferret or your cat?

A: *narrows eyes* My pets will never be in danger. Do you plan on putting them in some kind of danger?

Q: Do you have a must read book you recommend to your fans?

A: I have a lot of book recommendations for my readers. You can find them on my website here: http://www.jodimeadows.com/?page_id=225

Q: Favourite Genre to read?

Speculative fiction.

Q: Which fictional character are you absolutely IN LOVE with? Is he a bad boy or a good guy? Tell us about him!

A: I have a few book boyfriends. Logan, from CJ Redwine's DEFIANCE; Titus, from Sherry Thomas's THE BURNING SKY, and Hector, from Rae Carson's THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS.

I'd tell you about them, but really, I think you should just go read the books for yourself. They're wonderful boys.

This or That:

Q: Peanut Butter or Jelly?

A: Peanut butter.

Q: Big Mac or Rice?

A: Rice.

Q: Morning or Night person?

A: Night.

Q: Truth or Dare?

A: Truth.

Q: Stay in or Go out?

A: Stay in.

Thanks so much for joining us today Jodi! Love you! If you want to learn more about Jodi, you can visit her Twitter (where she replies to all messages!) here, her Facebook page here, and her author website at www.jodimeadows.com!
